Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 30, 2026
Radiant Barrier USA is committed to making radiantbarrierusa.com (the “Site”) usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as part of how we build and maintain the Site, not an afterthought.
Conformance Target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA as published by the W3C. WCAG 2.2 is also the technical standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Conformance is an ongoing effort. We are continuing to test, fix, and improve.
What We Have Built In
The Site has been designed and developed with the following accessibility features:
- Semantic landmarks (
header, nav, main, footer) on every page so assistive tech can jump between regions. - Skip link at the top of every page that lets keyboard users bypass navigation and go straight to the main content.
- Single, descriptive
<h1>on every page and a logical heading outline (h1toh2toh3). - Visible focus indicators on every interactive element: links, buttons, form inputs, custom controls.
- Keyboard navigation for everything that works with a mouse: the mega menu, the cookie banner, the dealer cards, the product hotspots, the comparison table toggle. Pressing Esc closes any open menu, dialog, or popover.
- Form labels explicitly associated with their inputs, plus
autocompletehints (name, email, tel, postal-code) so password managers and AT can prefill correctly. - Required fields announced both visually (red asterisk) and to screen readers (
(required)text) so the requirement is not communicated by color alone. - Image alt text on every meaningful image. Decorative images and icons are explicitly hidden from assistive tech.
- Live region announcements when the contact form succeeds or errors, with focus moved to the message so screen-reader users hear the result.
- Cookie consent banner that traps focus, supports Esc to dismiss, restores focus to the trigger that opened it, and works fully from the keyboard.
prefers-reduced-motionsupport. If your operating system requests reduced motion, our smooth-scroll, transitions, and animations stop running.- Color contrast at WCAG AA ratios for text, with each questionable use audited per occurrence.
lang="en"declared on every page so screen readers use the correct pronunciation engine.
Known Limitations
We want to be honest about where we know we fall short. We are working on each of these:
- Interactive map. The dealer locator uses Leaflet for the map view. The map’s pan and zoom controls are operable from the keyboard, but exploring map markers spatially is harder with screen readers than reading a list. The full list of dealers is available alongside the map on the same page, and the dealer information (name, address, phone, website) is the primary content. The map is supplementary.
- PDF spec sheets. Our product spec sheets are PDFs hosted on a CDN. Older spec sheets may not be tagged for screen readers. If you need a specific spec sheet in an accessible format, contact us using the details below and we will send one.
- Third-party widgets. The Google Analytics scripts and the Google Maps embed in the dealer locator are loaded from third parties and we do not control their accessibility. The cookie banner blocks Analytics until you consent.
- Automated testing only goes so far. We have run automated checks and structural reviews, but full AA conformance requires manual testing with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, TalkBack), magnifiers, and voice-control software across many devices. We are doing this in stages and will update this statement as we go.
Browsers and Assistive Technologies We Test With
The Site is built and tested against current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile. We aim to keep working with the assistive technologies most commonly paired with those browsers, including:
- VoiceOver on macOS (with Safari) and iOS (with Safari)
- NVDA and JAWS on Windows (with Chrome and Firefox)
- TalkBack on Android (with Chrome)
- Browser zoom up to 200% and reflow at 320 px width
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Operating-system-level reduced motion and high-contrast settings
If something does not work in a setup we have not listed, we still want to hear about it.
How to Report a Problem or Request Help
If you run into a barrier on the Site, or you need information from the Site in a different format (large print, accessible PDF, plain text email), please contact us. Tell us what you were trying to do, what page you were on, and what assistive tech you were using if you know.
