Radiant Barrier RB+
Our flagship attic radiant barrier. A thin, lightweight foil sheet that reflects 95% of the heat radiating off a hot roof deck. Perforations let attic moisture escape so it doesn't get trapped in the cavity. Stapled to the underside of rafters, it's the fastest way to drop attic temperatures and cut summer cooling costs.
Features & Benefits
What makes it work
- Perforated radiant barrier with a heavy-duty woven core.
- ASTM C1371 tested - 5% emittance (≈ 95% reflectivity).
- Non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, fiber-free, and maintenance-free; no special clothing or respirators required for installation.
- Can be stapled to the underside of attic rafters and applied to vertical attic walls, including gable walls.
- Designed to conform to ASTM 1313 surface-corrosion standards, maintaining low emittance and high radiant-heat reflectance over time.
- Especially effective in attics. Studies indicate up to 77% savings are possible; actual results depend on installation quality, climate zone, and other factors.
- Reduces energy use and associated emissions, helping cut utility bills while supporting broader climate goals.
- The RB+ Insulation Roll combines durability and safety with potential energy savings for a more comfortable, cost-effective home.
Cold Climate
Cold weather performance
Attic rain reduction
Attic rain happens when warm, moist indoor air condenses and freezes as frost on cold roof decking, then melts and drips into the attic. RB+ helps reduce frost buildup and melt-off by keeping roof-deck temperatures closer to outdoor conditions and reducing temperature swings that drive condensation.
Cold-surface condensation control
Helps reduce condensation forming on the underside of roof decking and framing members during winter conditions.
Dew-point risk reduction
Keeps attic air and surface temperatures slightly warmer and reduces the temperature difference between attic air and roof sheathing, lowering the chance moisture reaches the dew point on cold surfaces.
Reduces radiant heat loss
In winter, RB+ reflects radiant heat emitted from the conditioned space back toward the attic floor insulation.
Improves existing insulation efficiency
Minimizes radiant exchange between warm interior surfaces and cold roof decking, helping reduce downward heat loss across the attic assembly.
Helps limit moisture-related damage
Less winter condensation can help reduce mold growth, wood rot, damp insulation, musty attic odors, and long-term structural damage risk.
Stabilizes attic environment
Supports more consistent attic temperatures, helping reduce thermal cycling that can contribute to seasonal moisture issues.
Moisture-safe and ventilation-friendly
Non-absorptive and air-permeable when installed correctly under rafters, so it won’t trap humidity and attic ventilation can continue to function as designed (also retrofit-friendly without disturbing attic floor insulation).

| Assembly | Heat-Flow Direction | Typical R-Value Range |

- R-values represent estimated and potential heat resistance for our insulation in the proposed application.
- Actual performance depends on air film size, temperature, surface condition, and airflow direction (up, down, or horizontal).
- Calculations are based on RIMA, AIRAH, ASHRAE, and ISO 6946 standards, following ASTM procedures for air film resistance.
- When two air spaces are used, values assume still air conditions in both spaces.
